Please Note: This article relates to both the TM2 and TM3 versions of the desktop software.
Please complete the prerequisites for running the update on each TM2 machine before this date.
This will ensure you are ready to run the update when available.
Prerequisites for running TM2 updates
1. User Account Control
If you are using Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 ensure User Account Control is switched off on all PC’s using TM2.
Instructions can be found via the following link: User Account Control
Switching this setting off will ensure the Automatic Updates can download and install without any errors.
(If it is left switched on they may be blocked or partially installed)
2. Restrictive Firewalls & PC security
In order for TM2 to connect and download the updates, TM2 must be able to communicate to our update server. In some cases, Restrictive Firewall and PC security can block the update procedure.
If you think you may have an issue running these updates please contact your IT team before attempting to update.

3. Microsoft Outlook
Stop Outlook before running updates. If you use Microsoft Outlook it must not be running during the update process.
Once you receive the email to inform you that the update is ready, you will then be able to update your TM2.
It is up to the clinic to decide when you want to perform this update.
When running the update on the TM2 software this will automatically update your TM2 database. Any PC with TM2 installed that hasn’t been updated to the latest version will not be able to log in once the initial update has occurred.
Be sure to pencil in a morning/afternoon/evening off-peak business time, that would suit all staff to update. (The process of updating should take no more than 10 minutes)
